"Strong nations have friends far and near in peace, time.. In war time they aro feared. Weak nations stand alone and neglected in'peace time. In war time they run , the. risk of being crushed."
This declaration was made, reports tho Milan correspondent of "The Times," by Signor Mussolini in a speech at Cuneo, where ho met the heads of the Fascist Federations of Lombardy, Piedmont, and Liguria. Nobody could challenge the Italian Government and the people's sincere desire for peace, said the Prime' Ministor, but history taught the clear lesson that it was necessary to be v strong.
"We must especially bo strong in numbers, because if the cradles are empty the nation ages and declines," ho declared.
