The chain system of slaughtering and dressing sheep has now been introduced at the Auckland city. abattoirs. The old system, under which each man was responsible for air the operations in dressing mutton carcassos, has been sup•ciscded- by the chain -system in various freezing works. Under the'chain system each man is called upon to carry out only- a certain part, of the/work,- and every carcass is- han'dksd- by. about 15 men from the slaughteringto tho completion" of; .tiro dressing of the carcasses.
