The fortnightly meeting of Loyal Sister Wallis Lodge, Manchester Unity Oddfellows, was held recently, Sister E. Gibson presiding. Lodge honours were accorded a Sister from the Napier Lodge. After business being attended to the lodge closed and Sisters visited Loyal Antipodeon Lodge.fop a social. ' Loyal Newtown Lodge, Manchester Unity Oddfellows, held its meeting last week, Bro." W. Alcock presiding over a fair attendance. A report was presented dn the recent reunion of Loyal Antipodean - Lodge. McQueen presided over the morHhlv meeting of the1 Wellington District C6un: oil, Grand United Order of Oddfellows. Officers present were Bro. Ryde, P.D.M., Sister Hooper, D. Sec, Bro. Couper and Bro. Thompson, D. Trustees. Delegates were. Sister Ryde, Bros. Harnor, sen., Brooker, Agperley, Lender, and Taylor. The District Master thanked district officers for their good ■wishes upon the occasion of his tecent marriage. An acknowledgment of greetings received by Bro. Harnor, jun., on hisi wedding day was also received. The resignation of Bro. Cowley as 'M.C. of Mirainar Branch was receivce with regret. An invitation from Loyal W. Bain Lodge for' district officers to at- ■ tend a presentation to Sister M. Martin at their nest meeting was accepted. The district inspectors' reports on Newtown Alpha, William Bain, Hyde, Onslow, and Arahina branches were received. The P.D.M. also reported on si visit to William Bain branch. A committee was* formed of, all district officers and delegates' for the running of the annual ball, for which invitations will be issued. Bro. A. Taylor was elected as secretary for this function. Miramar Branch, No. 2, G.U.0.0.F., held * its fortnightly meeting, over which Bro. Pearson presided, the usual officers being present. Two members* were reported sick atod eick paytaent was passed accordingly. The usual business being dispensed with, ritual work was discussed. Bro. Murphy, Worthy Council Master, presided over a large attendance of 'Council Masters and Council Mistresses at a meeting of the Council Masters' Chapter, G.U.0.0.F. Three P.N.G.'s were initiated into the Chapter. Bro. Hutchins, Council Warden, received the degree of Past Council Master for continuous service of four years. . Bro. Davidson, N.G., presided over a large attendance at the meeting of Loyal Central Lodge, No. 8, G.U.0.0.F., held recently. Several members were reported •riick, and payment was passed accordingly. The resignation of Bro. Passelt as Inner Guardian was:received and accepted with regret. District delegates were thanked for their reports. Visitors from other branches were accorded a. hearty welcome. The evening concluded with harmony. Star of Newtown Branch, G.U.0.0.1?., held an executive meeting only, as a dance- had been arranged for that evening. Urgent rnisiness only was dealt with, which allowed the dance to commence in good time, the function proving a. very (successful' one. The fortnightly meeting of Court Sir George Bowen, A.0.F., was held last week, Bro. G. A. G. Power, C.K., presiding. Bro. <\. W. 0. Travers reported on an Cjfhcial visit paid to Court Lady Glasgow, and Bro. Wall stressed the value of. visits between Courts. A report from the ritual committee conveying the findings of the judges-'who recently completed an inspection of the Courts was received. The position of members in straitened circumstance's, due to- the prevailing depression; was discussed, and' certain resolutions in ■favour of such members were passed. Bro. Orams- (Court Zealandia Lodge, Auckland) -was a visitor.
