LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

■ Tli© annual meeting of the Island Bay-Berbampore. branch of the League of Mothers was held recently in the Bowling Green pavilion, Mrs. Hindmarsh presiding over an attendance of 93 members and friends. A welcome was extended to all visitors, and especially to representatives .from Newtown branch of the league who were present. Sixteen were inducted into full membership. A vocal solo was rendered by Mrs. Newman, and a pianoforte solo by Mrs. Mirfin. The annual report and financial statement were read, and both showed decided progress during the past year. The election of officers resulted as" follows: —President, Mrs. Hindmarsh; life hon. vico-prosidents, Mrs. A; Whitelaw and Mrs. Craig; vice-president, Mrs. Lyon; secretary and treasurer,-Miss I. Craig; hostosscs, Mesdames Williamson and Vance; committee, Meadamos Leslie, Whyte, Joplin, Ewen, Ziman, Ambrose, Duncan, Duffy, Pennington, liestor, Spencc, and Patience. As. Mrs. Craig was. not eligible for re-election as hostess, a position she held for seven years, members, as an appreciation of tho work she had done for the branch, elected her a life honorary vice-president. Tho meeting concluded with the serving of tea.
