GARDEN PLOT SCHEME
COMMITTEE TO DISBAND
Consequent upon, an Intimation that no further subsidies would be paid for the purchase of seeds and manures to be used by the unemployed in ihe cultivation, of vegetable plots, the committee of.the Wellington garden allotment scheme has decided to disband. A meeting of the executive of the committee was held yesterday afternoon, Mr. E\ S. Pipe presiding, and correspondence ■between the committee and the Unemployment Board was read. The following resolution was carried:— "In view of the Unemployment Board's decision nofc to renew its subsidy for tlio purehaso of seeds and manures, thereby indicating that it sots no great value on the services of the committee, the committee resolves to disband as from August 14, being of the opinion that, .in the circumstances, it can servo no useful purpose by continuing, and that the Unemployment Board bo advised accordingly."
