(Original, by "Lady Artist," aged 13.) A is f6r Animals found at the Zoo, Follow me closely; I'll show them to you. B is for Bear, so woolly and funny, Cii ■ for Camel, from lands that are sunny. .'■ ' D is for Dog; he loves a child, E,is for Elephant; you'll find him quite mild. F' is for Fox, so cunning and sly, G for Giraffe, whose neck is so high. H is 'for Horse, a real friend to man, I ig for Ibex, climbs high as he can. Jig for Jackal, he lives on the prairie, E, Kangaroo, whose hops are 'straordinary. L is for- Lion, king of them all, Mis for Monkey^—he '11 never fall. X- is for Neddy—our donkey, you know, O ; is for Oxen,-who/patiently go. ' P is for Panther; he doesn't like you, Q is for Quagga, not found at the Zoo. B is for Eabbit —and he's very nice, S:.is for Seal, who lives on the ice. T is for Tiger—don't go too near, Uig for Unicorn, with a horn like a •pear. T is for Vampire-bat; him you can seek, W is for Wolf, his fur is so sleek. Xis for —— don't know an X-animal yet. ■ i V is for Yak, wild ox of Tibet. I is for-Zebra, the- last one of all, B*y good-bye to the Zoo—we've .. finished our call.
