COMPLIMENTARY SOCIAL
'A complimentary social function was tendered Mr. o. '. Silbc.ry, secretary of tho Pctone and Lower Hutt Gas Lighting Board, last ovoning, by the various organisations with, which he has been associated. Mr. J. Kerf presided/ and there was a largo attendance. The Mayor Q*1l: D. McKenzie) presented Mr. Silbory -with a gold.-pencil oil behalf of the various organisations. Eulogistic remarks wore made about Mr. Silbory 's services to the district. The- speakers were Messrs. W. Langridge (Potono Beautifying and Toreshore Society), J. P. Gaynor (Pctone Piro Board), J, Ash (Central School), J. C. Burns (Central School Ex-Scholars' Association), Lowry (Petone Bowling Club), C. Nisson (Petone. Bugby rootball Club), G. Findlay (Petone Civic Association), D. Simpson (Potono Methodist Church), W. G. Lodder (chairman of the Gas Board), E. T. X Hogg (member of tho Gas Board), and V» Jacobson. Musical items were given during the evening.
