SCOUTS IN HUNGARY
GERMANS ABSENT i
("Times" Cable.) , LONDON, August 1. The Budapest correspondent of "The Times" says 32,000 Scouts of 34 nations are arriving at Godollo for the opening of the world jamboree on I August 2. There are large contingents from the British Empire, including New Zealand and Australia, also Americans, Russians, and Italians. The only notable absentees are Germans, whose organisation has been suppressed.' The Scouts are camped in the shadow of the historic castle, in the Koyal Park, the former seat of the kings of Hungary, which has been lent by Admiral Horthy, the Regent, who is the present occupier. The' camp consists of 300 acres of woodlands and lakes, where a township has •Sprung up, including a market [ square, a cinema, a theatre, and a radio statioiu Scouts have cut many roads through the forest. Their guides are trained in fourteen languages.
