UNRELATED QUESTIONS
The hope that a, London, cablegram dated July 2S would be [accepted as an absolute aud final answer to the propaganda,of Mossrs.' W. J. Poison, M.P., W. Goodfellow, and W. D. Fulton, and put an end to all talk of sacrificing New Zealand manufacturing industries by lowering the tariff to purchase freedom from'the quota, was expressed yesterday by Mr. F. Campbell, president of the New Zealand Manufacturers' Federation. The c ( ablc to which Mr. Campbell referred stated, inter alia;—Major,Elliot has reaffirmed that concessions in tariff oil British goods into New Zealand would not meet his requirements in regard to quota, his concern being the protection of British farmers against excessive importations. ;
