A WIN FOR SEATOUN

Seatoun defeated Miramar Kangers in the first B division match played'at SeaXoun Park on' Saturday, the score being 4. goals to 3. It was a close, hard-fouctht & ' ' i :

match. Seatouu showed the better combination, byt Miramar made the bettor chances, and the winners were lucky. Seatoim won the toss, and Miramar had to face the sun in the first half, which was full of incident, but in which onlj one goal was scored. This was gained by H. Salt from a good drive about fifteen minutes after play began. Seatoun were playing vigorously and having plenty ol the- ball, but-they did not iinish their movements well. The poor kicking of the 'Miramar backs aided the winners, and Gibbons performed brilliantly in keeping the score down. In this period Miramar had only two corners, but when the second half began play was much more evru. Soon after the start Janes headed against fche bar after getting the ball ■from Searle, and then Miramar moved back and Done- | hue sent down a fine shot, which Pavton rushed out to clear. He tipped the ball back over his head, and it struck the cross-piece, almost entering the goal. .Miramar continued to press, and Jlinifii; and Thompson made a move which beat the defence, the former ■goaling. With the scores even, Seatoun began to attack again, Garrod and 11. Salt combining Well to give Jiin&i good openings. A sustained, attack ended with several, crosses by the Seatoim wingers, and the referee decided that a screw kick had entered the goalmouth and gave a score. Miramar attacked again, and' Tucker sent, down a hot shot which Purton just happened to be in the right place to stop at 'a few yards' range. A moment later a whole group of Miramar. players were in the goalmouth, and there seemed nothing to stop them from scoring, but they impeded one another and Seatoun .escaped. Tl^en Seatoun scored twice in rapid ( succession, Janes putting the ball through from openings made by Garrod and Salt. There was not long to play now, and Edwards sent the ball through to JDonohue, who shot straight and beat Parton badly. A minute or two later Miramar'attacked again, and Donohue dropped a beautiful centre in front of the goal, where it was rapidly put past the goalie. The final score was Seatoui) 4, Miramar Hangers 3.
