FIRST B DIVISION

STOP OUT SUCCEED

Stop Out added 'another win to the recent run of successes when they defeated Institute Old Boys at Kelburn Park on Saturday. The score, 4-2, was not quite indicative of the. merits, of the teams*, and Institute should have scored several more goals, especially in the concluding stages. when they had Stop Out on defence for a considerable period. They lacked ability to finish off their forward movements, however, and were caught off their guard at critical junctures, letting Stop Out through to score.

The first score came after a. period of continued pressure by Stop Out, Lidall opening their account after connecting with a pass from Liddicoat. Institute came back, the forwards showing some fast flashes, and eventually G. Sutherland equalised. ,Up and down field play followed, Mitchell finally putting Stop Oui in the lead with a long shot which rebounded from the cross-bar. After the interval Lidall put Stop Out further in the lead, his ehot from close in giving Simmonds no chance. The Stop Out forwards were playing one of their best games this season, but could not break dowu the Institute defence. Then Institute got away for Turner to score, following which Stop Out were on the defence for a long period. Just before time a fast' movement on the right wing took play to the Institute goal, and Boyton scored. The referee was Mr. T. Plant.
