In the course of the debate Mr. Lloyd George, following Mr. Chamberlain, declared that the World.Conference was dead and lie understood that Mr. MacDonald was considering the best method of embalming it in order to give it the appearance of life after the spirit had departed. Until America's experiment reached a firm basis no arrangement was possible with her.
