INNES TO PLAY FOR WICAN

In connection with tlio report that G. D. Inncs, of Canterbury, has accepted an offer to play League football in England, it is understood that lunes will bo playing for the same club as W. E. .Merritt. It was announced from England recently that Merritt has decided to sign on with Wigan. There is a possibility, too, of another Canterbury Rugby Union representative, A. W. Roberts (now playing League cricket in England), joining up with a League football club. Innes's decision wiil mean that a change will bo necessary in Canterbury's representative team, and it is considered that the absence of Innes will tend to weaken the team.
