ADULT'S SECOND SUCCESS

Adult, who Won the Novice Stakes at Waimate on Thursday, is a four-year-old half-brother by defunct Arrowsmith to the Winter Cup winner Soliform, and he belongs to an excellent family, for his clam, A'dour, is a Danube mare from Perle dOr, a grand-daughter of the famous Instep. This is the same family as prodi/ced Desert Gold and Nigger Minstrel, and, more closely up, also Aladdin, Perle de Leon, and Molynenx.

The success .was not Adult's first, for he won the Pareora Hack Handicap at the South Canterbury Hunt Meeting last year, but since then he has not been seen much, for in the interval he had been out only on two isolated occasions. Ho was bred by the late Mr. (i. D. Greenwood, and lie has for the last two seasons, on his occasional appearances, carried the colours of the Washdyke trainer E. J. Ellis, who holds.him on lease from Mrs. E. M. Wardoll. -
