VISIT TO AUSTRALIA

While in Australia, Mr. H. L. Godber, manager of the Dominion representative team, took up the question of the visit of a schools' team to the Commonwealth. In his report on the tour released this week Mr. Godber stated: "School football in Australia is organised and controlled by the Government Education Department, and I met the officer in charge, Mr. Lynch. He informed me that the visit would be welcomed and every effort made by his Department to ensure the success of the enterprise. General regret and disappointment was expressed when news came from New Zealand that the project had been dropped for this season. \

"I saw a good deal of school football in various parts of .New South Wales and Queensland, and the general standard was very good indeed. There :Li no doubt that the visit would have done much good in fostering the game in both countries, and in my opinion it is deplorable that our affiliated associations were so apathetic and unenterprising in failing to-grasp this opportunity ( of encouraging the boys and doing something really worth while for our game."
