THE CHATHAM CUP

Sice the inauguration of the Chatham Cup competition, Maori Hill have been fairly consistent competitors, and its success in' reaching .the.., South Island final marks the. second occasion in its career (states a Duncdin paper). It will be remembered that the West Coast team, Millerton, put them out of the Dominion final last year when the latter team won on Logan Park by three goals to one.

In agaiu reaching the South Island final Maori Hill have done well, defeating Northern in it's final game by four goals to one, and then Mosgiel by one to nil on Saturday. Its opponents in the South Island final will not be known until the result of the district final between West Coast and Christchurch, which is due to be played on July 29. The final for the South Island is scheduled for August 5, either at the West Coast or at Christchurch, dependent on whichever district is the winner. -
