' Others make a lovely slide, Smooth and bright as polished glass, At such:speeds they glide along, You can scarcely see them pass. Some amongst'the powdered snow Have a jolly snowball fight, . < Loud and clear their laughter rings > Half-way through the winter night. *
In the middle of the pond Others build a snowman high, - Like a grumpy gnome'he leers, Staring upwards at the sky. Boasted ant-eggs, piping hot, By a big stout toad are sold, Pixies gather round his Are When their finger-tips are cold. When at length their capers end, Home to bed gaily run, Cheeks a-tinyle, rosy-red, Warm as toast ia everyone.
