Congratulations on the -well sustained effort of all officers of the Wades-1 , town branch of tho Bible Society dur-' I ing tho past year were expressed by I I the organising secretary (Mrs. Florence I Poitci) at the recent annual meeting' of that branch, which was held at thei ! vicarage. Mrs. Ashley-Jones presided.' ACrr-r, I/jitcr mentioned particularly the I work of Mrs. 11. D. Thomson (treasurer) who had held office, for twelve* years, The speaker outlined the' now plan of organisation and the warm support] it had received from the local branches [ Tho president, assisted by her daugh-, ter. served delicious tea, and a pleasant' time was spent by the vaiious workers, in exchanging experiences. The following officers were elected: — President, Mrs. Ashley-Jones; vicepresidents, Mesdames Inglis and Ensell; secrctaiy, Miss Lorna Thomson; treasurer, Mi-'.'H. D. Thomson; .collector*. Mesdames Ashley-Jones, Heighway, Ensoil, Liggins, Booth, Shepherd, Thomson, Curtis, Collins, Wicks, McKcnzie. Misses Cook, Lomas, and ."Thomson. Mrs Ashley-Jones received a very hearty vote of thanks for her hospitality.
