SOME SURPRISE RESULTS (By "Not Out.") Somo surprising results have been recorded in the last two series of matches in the, cotfnty cricket championship, and these have caused some changes of position on the table. York-, shiro, however, are not in the least disturbed; in fact, their commanding lead has been increased. Surrey have made a strong forward move in gaining twenty points out of a possible;of thirty, and Notts have done better still in getting the maximum point 3 for' two matches. Hobbs, with a big score in each match, has had not a little to do with Surrey ,'s advance. Haying beatea Sussex outright, Essex have shown a surprising reversal of. form in failing badly in both innings against Surrey. After their rout by Yorkshire, Northants have made,a recovery in gaining-an outright win over Somerset, but Lancashire's average has been kept down through inability to gain more than first innings wins. Notts, who have not been faring well, have struck winning form, arid an eight-wicket win over Hampshire baa been followed up by an even more decisive victory over Derby1-, shire. . Hampshire, too, have sprung a surprise in severely beating Middlesex in their latest match. The two bottom teams, Worcestershire and Leicestershire, baye had a couple of interesting contests, jn which Worcestershire have succeeded in adding twenty points to their championship tally, With the result that they havo moved up ahead of Glamorgan.
