YEARLING BY PINK COAT During the, interval between the third and fourth races at the South Canterbury' Meeting, last Saturday, four■ young horses were given a run down the straight. Three of the four were yearlings, and the other was a two-year-old. The-yearlings 'ere Pink Lupel, Hoyal Hansom, and Wonderful. Pink Lapel, a bay colt, is the first ot the progeny of tlie young Hunting Song sire, Pink Coat, the dam being Pollyfonn, by Boniform from the Australian-bred mare Polly Prim. He is owned by his breeder; Mr. J. Morrison (owner of Pink Coat), for whom I<\ Trilford is training him. The other pair are Weathervane colts. Royal Ransom, a bay, is from Blackmail, by Bezoman from Ilistoriette, who traces to Eleusis, ah imported mare, whoso daughters included Elusive and Delusive, successful brood maves at the Stonyhux-st Stud.. Wonderful, a black, is from the Australian-bred Canzone mare Graceful (dam of Tea Queen and Open Cheque, who were iv 11. Telford's stable at Trentham a few seasons back). Mr: M. J. Sullivan owns them, and P. T. Hogap trains them. The two-year-old who accompanied these three yearlings was na Australianbred youngster by Bonoinint (son of Spearmint) from, Bon Avis, by Boniform from the Bezonian mare Philomela, the dam also of Wakatipu, who is doing so ,well at present in South Africa. He is in P."Shaw's stable' at Wingatui. I
