BOWLING

WELLINGTON CLUB The forty-seveuth annual report of the AVcllington Bowling Club, to be presented to members next week, states that the year closed with a membership of 160. The report reviews the main club competitions and successes of members ia those and other tournaments. Congratulations are exteuded to.Mr. AY. IT.-Park house,'the winner of the singles at the Dominion tournament. Warm appreciation is expressed' of the good work of Mr. C. Bary, who was 'secretary for. five years. At the request of the directors, Mr.' IV. J. Thompson has acted as secretary since Mr. Bary's retirement from the office. The directors report that the club property is in good order and that during the season the greens gave.considerable satisfaction, especially to visiting bowlers who played in the Domiuion tournament. They were found true and fast, and the best thanks of members were due to Mr. AVicks for taking levels and to the greenkeeper. Since the close of the season attention has been given to the improvement of drainage from the lower green. Hearty thanks are accorded the ladies for their valuable assistance in many successful and enjoyable social functions. The nominations for office .arc:—President, Mr. J. Porteons; vice-president, Mr. A. Jacobs; hon. secretary, Mr. C. R. lugrain; five directors, Messrs. AY. A. Parton, T. H. Meadows, AY. J. Thompson, Dr. AY. Ewart, E. McKenzie, A. Simpson.
