BERLIN TO DARWIN IN 3[?] DAYS
•LONDON, Juno 8. Tho "Sunday Express "'says that Mr. O. Cathcart Jones, on his attempted record flight from Berlin to Darwin in three and a half days, in a German aeroplane,, will be accompanied by Miss Marcinah Nelson, aged 19; one of the youngest holders of a flying certificate. Their machine, a Heinkel monoplane, has a top speed of 22C miles art hour. They propose not to follow the ordinary route till they road! Bagdad. The date of their departure has not yet been published. Mr.' Cathcart Jones was assistant pilot to the late Commander, Glen Kidston on his record-breaking flight to tho Capo in 1931. .;
It was reported a fortnight ago that plans were being discussed by the naval airman, Lieutenant Cathcart Jones, for an attempt to make a record flight from Berlin to Darwin in three and a half days in a German Heinkel monoplane, fitted M'ith a 'retractablo undercarriage. The report added that there was a touch of mystery in the announcement that a young unnamed Englishwoman would act as reserve* pilot.
