HUTT VALLEY SOCIETY
The. annual general meeting of the Hutt Valley' Horticultural' Society,' hold last Evening, was presided over by the retiring president, Mr. If. B. Gibbons. There ■was a.largo attendance, of members.
The report showed that there had been .four shows and seven show days. The .shows'had maintained a high standard. and tinder the difficult circumstances oE ■the times the executive was considered to have done well to close the year with si debit "of only £i 6s" 6d. The receipts for the year were £443 10s Gd and the expenditure £iil 17s. The' subscriptions ■collected were £141 14s, as against £140 4s 6d during the previous year. An appeal was made to members to meet their obligations. The thanks of the society were expressed to the ladies' committee, for work done, and. to the trade for supporting the shows. ■ ' .
