MINISTER'S BLUNT THREAT
TO SCRAP N.Z. TREATY
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received June 6, 10 a.m.) VANCOUVER, June 5. Speaking to a creamery delegation at Vernon, British Columbia, the Minister of Trade and .Commerce, Mr. Stevens, said,that the Canadian butter trade had more to fear froni producing more butter than could be sold in the Canadian market than from New Zealand imports. The Minister stated that the lowprice in. the British markets would set the price for Canada, and added:, "If the New Zealand Treaty involves shipping butter to Canadian markets, the entire treaty will be scrapped, if necessary, to protect the dairy farmers of Canada."
