MIRAMAR CLUB
At Miraniar on Saturday the second round of the Mabin Cup, fourball,- -bestball, bogey, A "and B grades partnering, was played. Sixty-six players, out of 100 ■who played in the first round, competed, despite the southerly gale and frequent showers of sleet during the afternoon. The high scorers' of the first r6uud, Gordon and A. G. Barnett, who were 9, up, could not do better than 4 down, leaving them 5 up, while the next best, i\ W. Glover and Ashby, with 7 up, were 3 down, leaving them 4 up. Eiehelbaum and Buxton, who started with 6 up, finished about 3 up. Liddle and Wiggins were thought to have an excellent chance, starting with 6 up, but finished 5 down. The only pair who were up on the.day's play proved to be the winners. They were C. V. Sutherland and Moeller, who were 1 up, which, with 5 up in the first round, gave them 6 up for the two rounds, and the trophies. Drake and Pcrrett were 5 up and all square, leaving them 5 up, and White and G. W.i Scott were 1 down, which, with 5 up in the first round, left them .4 up; . . , ; Next Saturday the annual all-day match between the president's •: and captain's teams will be played.
