VISIT TO SOUTH ISLAND

The possibility of sending a senior team away- to play Marlborough, Nelson, and Motueka was mentioned at the meeting of the management committee of tho W.H.A. on Monday night, when it was decided that owing to insufficient players being available the visit to Nelson for a match on June 3 could not be undertaken. The question of a comprehensive tour was not seriously discussed, aud in view of transport and other difficulties it is unlikely that anything will come of it this season at least. The committee has, however, intimated that if the invitation to visit Nelson is repeated later on in the season, probably about September, it may be possible to send a senior team across. It is interesting to learn that Mr. N. J. Lewis, formerly secretary of the W.H.A., has formed a sub-association at Motueka which is already making good progress.
