BRITAIN'S POLICY
BOUND BY" LEAGUE REPORT MANCHUKUO UNRECOGNISED 1 (British Official Wireless.) ' (Received May 23, 11 a.m.) KUGBY, May 22. The' Prime Minister answered a series of questions in Parliament addressed to the Foreign Secretary, Sir John Simon, who is at Geneva. He said that negotiations for the conclusion of a new commercial agreement with the Japanese Government, were not at prusenfr contemplated. Begarding the recognition of Manchukuo, he said that Japan alone had formally recognised the new State. The British- Government was bound by the League Assembly report of February and continued to withhold recognition.
