It is .widely, reported that-the SinoJapaneso' truce negotiations have broken down as the Chinese prefer to - fight rather than "swallow the Japanese demands. ' • ■ ■.'.'..' Foreign military observers now predict that Peking is likely to become the next battleground..Japanese cavalry patrols have penetrated within three miles of Tungchow, which is only thirty miles eastward of Peking.
