FAMOUS TRIO
GREAT CONCERT FOR TONIGHT
A most .welcpme and appropriate contribution to the Brahms Centenary celebrations will be the playing of the glorious Brahms Trio in G Minor by the Spivakovsky-Kurtz trio at the Town Hall Concert>'Chamber tonight. "This is oneof the, most notable works in the whole field of chamber music. It reveals the composer in the fullness of his marvellous creative ■ powers. Its.: whole, conception of the work is a wonderful inspiration, the development of' which is the work _ of a supreme, genius. The three musicians will bring V the trio'their virtuosity, their deep musical insight, and their wouderful' te.am work. The 'cellist of the party; Edmund Kurtz, who is the finest 'cellist that has visited this country since Gerardy, arid who was a pupil of the famous Casals, will be heard in "Toccata by - Frescobajdi," "HaMnera". by Ravel, and "Flight of the Bumble Bee" by Rim-sky-Korsakoff. - The - violinist, Tossy Spivakovsky, who was leader of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, will play "Song-of the Bride,"' by Rimsky-Korsakoff (first performance in New Zealand), and "Guitarre" by Moszkowslcy. ■'■' The pianist,: Jascha Spivakovßkjv will include in his riumbers tlile? Betoved.^'-'Moonlighfc-tSonata by Beethoven. This is an entrancing work, which was received with tumultuous applause in Sydney recently.
