"That of itself, it maybe »aid, was an aehievemeilt, for in more senses than one scrummage halfbacks generally -win more kicks and criticism than praise, and . affection. Arthur Young, however, was one of tho cleverest and most ingenious, as well as the most disarming, of them all, and if he failed to become linked in one of the moje famous partnerships it was mainly because his originality and keen sense of enjoyment '.often prevented him from playing down, .to/other less lively and . less gifted ,'«omj>anions.'' Young played for Cambridge and England against the 1924, All- Blacks, and there was a suggestion during the 1930 British tour that he should be brought from India to replace Paul Murray when the latter was injuredV W. H. Sobey, one of the half-backs with the British Rugby tcain in New Zealand in 1930, has decided to give up Rugby. The anklo' injury he met with before Christmas has mended, but he feels it. unwise to turn, otit again next season. Although he has beea playing eight seasons, he has only completed four of them, injuries alwayi laying him aside." When with the Bri» tish team in New Zealand —he was vice* captain to F. B.
