1 Exploiting/ to.'jl^ JiuU.^the short* passing' game'!"W.atersfd^/'aei&oralised Hospital in the;first half of .their game last week and fully deserved.the lead of 3-0 which they had .at-the interval. Unluckily, they lost a man-through injury early in tho second half j-and had to finish with only ten men. Hospital rallied slightly, and by'good luck managed to avert defeat by scoring three equalising goals before the end. It was Waterside's game. ;. ~ , Hospital's failure lay in -their .forwards." Goalkeeper, halves,, and backs were as good as usual, but'their forwards were .a .ragged crew. All except Marshall, the right wing, were off their game, and combination- between them was non-existent. Had; they availed themselves of all their' chances they would have led 5-3 at half time, even though they were facing a difficult sun. It was a pity that Harry ,Tre>-ick was away because Jeffreys, w,ho. made his first appearance this season,, was an centre half in Trewick's place, instead of centre-forward where he would have been more: useful. ■ ,: Shipp, the- goalkeepeiy was the hero of the Waterside eleven. He certainly had some luck but forgone playing his first game for the senior team ho did ■wonderfully well. -Mcl<ellan,- who was injured and had to retire, was outstanding among,a good half lin<v and Meijeod was the pick of ah. equally good forward line. But it was not individual but combined excellence that gave Waterside their superiority. Their forwards/especially played a very prettygame and at times ran rings round tha solid Hospital defetfee. .'.'.
