A wedding of interest to many sporting people took place recently at St. Mark's Church, when Sybil Iris, younger daughter of Mrs. C. and the late Mr. H. F. Swinburne, Wellington, was married to James Knox, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs: Thos, Barrpn,. Benhar, Otago South. The Key. N. S. Barnett officiated, and Mr. L. Watkins presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by Mr. A. C. Kitto, wore, a charming frock of pale pink lace, moulded to the figure and falling in graceful flares from the knees. Her embroidered veil was worn well off the face, and held in place with side posies of orange blossoms. A shower bouquet of cream and pink roses was carried. Miss Helen MeLellan, the only bridesmaid, wore a dainty frock of apple-green georgette and lace, with shoulder puff sleeves and a small toque to tone.' She carried a bouquet of mauve gladioli and cream roses, Mr. E. B. Hutchison .was best man. A guard of honour was formed by the College Old Girls- Hockey Club, and as the bride and bridegroom left the church Master Bruce Bieharda presented them with a lucky horseshoe. The reception was held at the home of the bride's mother, who received her guests wearing a frock of nigger floral georgette with hat to match, and carrying a posy of autumn tinted flowers. Among those present were Mrs. M. Randolph (Sydney), Misses B.
Middlemiss (Dunediu), E. Barron (Dunedin), M. and J. Wight (Auckland), Eev. N. S. Barnett, Mesdames E. Eichards, Smith, Columbus, and Whelan; Misses A. Lucena, P. Hilkie, B. Charles, N. Williams, E. Stowers, A. Scott, M. Wilkins, J. Harper, and Messrs. C. Barron, J. Barron, and D. Eichards. Later Mr. and Mrs. Barron left for the north, the latter wearing a smart burgundy coat with musquash collar and hat to match. Their future home will bo in New Plymouth.
