UNIVERSITY FEES
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—The time is fast approaching for tho payment of University examination fees. It its opportune to inquire of the University whether they intend to make any reduction in these fees. Last year students managed to scrape together the necessary guineas to pay their fees, but this year it will be a big hurdle for many. Some have sacrificed necessaries in order that they might gain the knowlodge which will enable, them to sit for qualifying examinations. . What do the Now Zealand University intend to do to assist in alleviating the hardships 'suffered by those who directly interest them? With administrative coats at their lowest, j and we are told by those who should know that-other costs have fallen, arc they not in duty bound to make some concession, either by .means of a reduction ov the delayed payment of fees?—l am, etc., ' ■ ■ ' ' = ' R.
