"SPANISH TREASURE"

PERSISTENCE OF FRAUDS

MANY VICTIMS IN FRANCE

(Received May 3, 2 p.m.) PARIS, May 2. The extent of the Spanish treasun fraud is shown by the fact that despite publicity in the newspapers of th« world, about two hundred people last year called at the cloak room of ths Lyons Perrache station for a trunk which they fondly hoped would contain £20,000 worth of French bank notes. Each victim had been in Spain and had paid £300 for a cloakroom, ticket as the Spanish "prisoner" was unable to go to Lyons. The officials at the Lyons station are quite, accustomed to tragi-couiic scenes when th« truth is revealed. ■
