SALVATION ARMY JUBILEE.
During nest week uniformed Salvationists will be gathering in the city to celebrate the jubilee congress.--Throughout the past fifty years the Salvation Army has experienced a number of vicissitudes, aud it has also met with no little success. A review of the progress of the Salvation Army will be made by Commissioner Cunningham in a lecture at the Town Hall on Sunday week, at which meeting the Mayor (Mr. T. C. A. Hislop) has promised to preside. An outstanding feature should be the Old Identities' Reunion, which takes place next Saturday afternoon, ami it is hoped to have a representation of nearly 500 veterans at this function.
The average weekly number of men employed under the No. 5 scheme by the Hiitt County Council during March was 31S, and under the '-'over the fence"- (work on farms) Echem« 31 were employed.
