T. -Bealfr, Mcar of Holy Trinity Church, Stratford, has resigned, and will relinquish his duties in' June in order to visit England. Canon Beale, who has been at Stratford nearly four years, was formerly vicar of St. Barnabas', Mount Eden. Mr., Justice Reed, chairmaji . of th» Prisons Board, is at present in Auckland. Mr. H. H. Sterling, chairman of,the Railways Board, is visiting Auckland^ He is accompanied by. Mrs. Sterling. Mr. D. Reese, of-the Railways Board, left last evening for" the south. Messrs. S. E.- Sutherland, H. A. Price, J. Macdonald, and W. M. Shaud left, for the South Island last even-, ing. . .- ... Wilkes, Director of Air Services,,is visiting Christchurch. • ■ •■ Mr. G. G. Dewsbury will arrive from Christehurch tomorrow morning, en route to England and the Continent, Vhere he will continue his studies. Congratulations were extended at tha meeting of the Hutt Valley Electrio Power Board yesterday to Messrs. A; Anderson and A. J. Hobbs, the Lower Hutt representatives Who were returned unopposed. The opportunity was taken by. the chairman. (Mr. S. Blackley) to thank Messrs. L. Stewart, J. W. McEwan, and A. Walker, who have to contest an election, for their valuable' work on the board -anti their support to him as chairman. To Mr. W. H; P. Barber, the Upper Hutt representative, who is retiring from, the board, Mr. Blaekley and Mr. E. F. Hollands, the engineer-general manager, expressed 'the appreciation of the board and-the staff for his work as a member oi th» board since its inception and as chairs man for a term. ■ They hoped that: ha would soon be a member again. Mr. Barber suitably replied, explaining that he was retiring because he was no longer a resident of the district ha represented. : "Mr. J. L. Fisher, of the Bank of England, left Christehurch this morning for-Southland and O'tago. .-Upon his return to Wellington, he will travel to Auckland through Wanganui arid Taranaki, having already visited' the East Coast of the North Island. Mr. Fisher is accompanied, on his tour by Mr. D. Ardell, of the Department of Internal Affairs, Wellington. Mi', and Mrs. J. A. Dick (Marton), Messrs. H. Dunderdale (Masterton), L.
