MEETINGS OF HOUSEHOLDERS
Matters concerning the annual meetings of householders to be held in the primary schools on April 2-1 were discussed at a meeting of the Wellington School Committees' and Educational Federation last night. The secretary of the federation (Mr. T\. A. Ingram) said that on this occasion it was not proposed to send out stereotyped resolutions as had been done in past years, as it was considered that the repetition which followed weakened the position. Instead, the federation was.providing school committees with certain information on live topics concerning the schools and school chldrcn on which committees could base their own resolutions. Tt was also proposed to ask all the school committees to meet in the board's room soon after the election to discuss a number of subjects. He mentioned the proposed intermediate school system as. a subject on which school cotnmittcemen were not very well acquainted. There was no reason why they should not ask the Department to send along an officer who could tell them all about it.
