Miss Jea.n Newton, who lias, been spending a month with her cousin, Mrs. Cheviot Bell, Lowry Bay, will return to Christchurch tomorrow evening. Lady Wilford and Miss Isabel Wilford, who will return to England by the Eangitane, which leaves at daybreak on Thursday, gave a reception this afternoon to. say good-bye t,o their friends in Wellington. Mrs. A. D. Park, Hataitai, who has been visiting her mother, Mrs. .T. C. A. Mercer, Nelson, has returned to Wellington. . . . . Mrs. Tombs will leave Wellington tomorrow evening for Nelson, whore sho will attend the Nelson Girls' College Jubilee, to be held there this weekend. Miss Peggy Lowos, Ekelahuna, left Wellington yesterday by the Wanganella for a trip to the Sounds. Miss ■ Enid Bell, Lowry Bay, will be the guest of Mrs. Geoffrey Kingscote, Fendalton, Christehurch, for the golf tournament to be held at Shirley during the Easter weekend. Mrs.. J. K. Stewart, Opawa, Christchurch, is a visitor to Wellington. Mrs. D. E. Hoggard (Day's Bay) and Mrs. A. Humphries (Mayfair Flats) will leave for Nelson tonight, and will attend the Nelson Girls' College Jubilee. Mr. and Mrs. V. Eiddiford and Miss Biddiford, who intended to leave for England by the Eangitane on Thursday have found it necessary to postpone their departure. Miss C.
