Mr. Justice Maughan, in the Chancery Division, gave judgment in favour oi the Performing Eights Society in a< test action against Hammond's Bradford Brewery Company, in which he decided that loud speaker reproductions of tho Broadcasting Corporation's broadcasts in hotels and places of entertainment infringed copyright and constituted a new performa-nce, entitling the owners of tho copyright to royalties. The decision involves a large sum in royalties.
