ARRESTS IN BERLIN
RELEASE IN ONE CASE
' (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, April 4. A question was asked in the1 House of Commons today regarding the arrest in Berlin of two Englishmen—Mr. Gordon Catchpool, head of the Berlin branch of the Society of Friends, and Mr. Geoffrey Fraser, employed by the Transoeean Wireless News Agency.
The Foreign Under-Secretary, Captain E. A. Eden, said he was informed that both these men were detained in the police headquarters in the Alexander Platz. In the case of Mr. Catchpool, the British Ambassador was already in communication with the German authorities with a view to ascertaining the nature of the charge against him. Meanwhile, permission had been askeoV'for the British Consul to ■ visit him. Inquiries were being made into Mr. Fraser 's case. ' . - ,
BERLIN, April 4. Mr. Catchpool has been released, as he was not suspected of trying to evadetrial or hiding evidence.
