COUNCIL'S PROPOSAL

With the object of avoiding the payment of the 25 per cent, exchange on the transfer.of 'money to London, the City Council is seeking authority to reraise part of a loan of £17,000 which will mature in London on August 1. The whole amount of the loan is covered by the sinking fund in Now Zealand, buti if exchange has to be paid on the portion that matures in London there will beJnsufficient money on hand for the purpose.
