WANGA2CUI, April 5~ At the final Wanganui wool sale for the current season tonight values opened firm on Wellington rates, and showed an appreciable advance on those ruling at the Wanganui auction in February. Approximately 15,000 bales were offered. Ihe full bench of buyers evidently appreciated the fact that there was only one more Dominion sale this season, at Napier, and competed keenly for their requirements. Compared with the February sale, fine crossbred, 40 to 48's, advanced %d, inferior Vid; medium crossbred, ii to 46 s, average and inferior, advanced %d to /id; coarse crossbred, 40 to ii'a, advanced An to %d; low crossbred, 3G to 40's, par. Hogget wool caused competition, and lots of good quality appreciated %d to Id. Bradford secured the bulk of the coarse sorts of fleece wool, the finer types going to the Continent. Japan also competed for the better class fleece -wools. France was strongly in the market for bellies, pieces, and for good quality lambs. Australian mills also secured a proportion ot lambs, and' several nice lines were taken by Bradford.
