UPPER HUTT MAYORALTY

A meeting held at Upper Hutt Inst week to consider the nominations for the coming Mayoral election set up a committee to interview two of the candidates, Messrs. J. Blowman and P. Bobertson, in an endeavour to persuade one to stand down to avoid votesplitting. Both gentlemen, however, are optimistic regarding their .chances and they expressed their firm intention to stand. The present Mayor (Mr. A. J. McCurdy) will be the other candidate.
