SURTAX ON IMPORTS

PARIS, March 23!
A surtax of 15 per cent, has been imposed on South African, New. Zealand, and Ceylonese imports, similar to the tax designed to offset depreciated currencies.. The tax on imports from China and Japan has now been increased to 25 per cent.
