PACtANELLI'S SPEINT
FINISHES TOO SOLIDLY
Paganelli, reserved through the. meeting for the -Telegraph Handicap, the final event, won in-brilliant style. In. spite of his-years he-has been racing very consistently this season, and his present form is nearly as good as it was in his best years.
Arisus jumped out fastest, but Souchong soon ran up along the fence to ■ settle down in front of Arisus, Paganelli, 'and All Humbug, who were racing with bare lengths between them. In the straight Souchong left the rail open .and Paganelli drew up level at the distance,' where.the other pair were-also in practical line, Aryada being the only one out of it. Souchong was the first beaten, then Paganelli drew out clear, running on brilliantly to win very- decisively by a I couple of lengths from All Humbug, who beat Arisus by a. length and a half. .Souchong; was a moderate fourth., with Arvada last. ' ..,. .'
:It vras a great.betting race, with Paganelli, Souchong,, and AH Humbug very similarly backed on both machines. Paganelli was definitely supreme in a contest in which "no excuse could be made'for any of the runners.
