SKIING AND WINTER SPORTS
The March "Tramper" o£ the l'ararua lramping Club shows that early preparations, aye being made for the coming winter s activities. Skiing and winter sports are being catered for, both locally and further afield. "A strong party will be at the Chateau Tongariro for ten days from August 20 to August 30, as has been the custom for many years past.; :The Tararua skiing championship shield .will be competed for during the visit. Some members may also attend the national skiing championships, which are being held at the Hermitage this year. For those unable to leave Wellington, skiing practice will be available at the Kime Memorial Hut in the Tararuas behind Otaki and should the weekend weather prove at all favourable, members will be assured of a successful winter's sport.
