TRAIN-RUNNING
TODAY AND TOMORROW
ALTERED TIME-TABLE
The Eailway Department advises that train-running times for today and tomorrow have been amended as follows: The 2 p.m. train from. Wellington to Auckland will not run today or tomorrow, but tho Limited will leave at 7.15 p.m. Tomorrow a daylight Limited will leave Wellington at 7.53 a.m. and a down daylight Limited will leave Auckland at 8 a.m., arriving here at 11.20 p.m.
It is not expected that, the night Limited which left Auckland last night will arrive in Wellington till between a and 6 p.m, today. Tho recently opened Stratford Hue is blocked^ by many slips, and it 13 probable that train running -will be suspended on this line for about three weeks. The worst slips and wash-outs
are between Okahukura and Tuhua. Goods services only have beea ruu on this line so far.
A large number of -men have been concentrated in. repair work on the Main Trunk; in. fact, practically the whole of the railway forces from Frankton to Taihape are working,- under the direction of officers from Wellington and Auckland, including the chief engineers from those centres.
Very satisfactory progress is being made, and it is hoped that a sufficient measure of repair work will be made during the weekend to permit of the resumption of ordinary time-table running on Monday.
