W.CT.U. RESOLUTIONS

IXVEECAEGILL, March 21
The Dominion Convention of the Women's Christian Temperance "Union was continued at Invercargill today.
Mrs. Pcryman was appointed editor of the "White Eibbon" for the twentyfirst time. .
The following resolutions were passed: (1) That a vigorous protest be made against the loan of £SOOO from the .unemployment fund, to assist in the rebuilding of a Napier hotel; (2) that the attention of the Government be dra-n-n to the iniquitous handicap imposed upon women of small income by requiring payment of the unemployment tax upon incomes of over £20, and that au exemption of £52 be suggested; (3) that the Government be urged to restore the 2s 6d per week which is being deducted from the old age pension; (4) that the Education Department be urged to include, temperance lessons in the "School Journal"; and (0) that an active house-to-house canvassing campaign bfe inaugurated by the W.C.T.TJ. in order to •revive enthusiasm in the movement for tho abolition of the sale and use of alcoholic liquors.
