WORLD-FAMOUS MEN

DISAPPEARANCE IN GERMANY

LONDON, March 15,

The Paris correspondent of the "Manchester Guardian" says that there is intense and growing anxiety over the fate of well-known German Republicans, including Dr. Breitsheid, Dr. Hertz, and D.r., Hilferding. It is known that Dr. Hertz, who was the German Socialist Party's economic expert, was arrested, but many clays have elapsed without further news.

The famous Liberal pacifist, yon Gerlach, is also missing.

"The civilised world has a right to know what has happened to these distinguished men," adds the correspondent.
