. The "Wairarapa Racing Club has increased stakes for its Easter Meeting, to be held on April 15 and 17, the lowest amount for any winner being £70. Accommodation charges have been reduced to 8s a day, and the charge for a box 5s for a period not exceeding seven days. A new horse wash has been erected adjoining the old one behind the stewards' stand.
-Improvements to the totalisator house to accommodate the win-and-place system for the meeting are well in hand. The name of the Easter Handicap has been altered to the Wv. E. Bidwill Memorial Handicap in honour of the club's late president. Noininations close at 8 ct'clock, next. Tuesday evening.
